Shortly after Ieyasu took control of the country, Toshiie Maeda, the lord of the Kaga Hyakumangoku domain, was frightened by rumors that he had destroyed Tozama Daimyo, and watched Ieyasu's expression with timidity. However, his nephew Keijiro Maeda is a strong-willed man who does not bow to the power of the Tokugawa government. Toshiie was afraid that Keijiro's words and actions would anger Ieyasu, so he assigned his maid, Asaya, to keep an eye on him. However, Asaya and the woman, Keijiro, captivate her. The day Ieyasu entered Osaka Castle. Among the daimyo from other countries who came to welcome them was Keijiro, a small fortune-teller with 10,000 koku. Toshiie was surprised to learn this. At the Muikō banquet, Kojiro danced the tanuki dance in the presence of Ieyasu, who was said to be the tanuki's uncle, and cursed the daimyo under the guise of a song, and then declared that he would give up his status and left. The disgraced feudal lord Yoshiaki Kato sent an assassin. Keijiro took advantage of them and sent the survivors back to the Kato mansion in strings. Honda Sado no kami chuckled at Kato's impatient behavior. Honda was ordered by Ieyasu to destroy Yoshiaki Kato's 400,000 koku in Matsuyama and Toshiie Maeda's 100,000 koku in Kaga, and he had a guarantee that he would receive 100,000 koku as a reward. Honda had Kato's senior vassal, Aoe, killed and pretended that it was Keijiro's work, while also mentioning Kato's name and sending Keijiro a dueling letter. Kato believed the false report that Keijiro was at Toshiie's residence, so he raised his troops and attacked the Maeda residence. Toshiie had no choice but to gather troops. This was Honda's target, and he arrested the two men, accusing both families of treason. Keijiro learns of Honda's plan and has Asaya and the others search inside the Honda residence...
