Overview
The second installment of the ``Soldier Yakuza'' series, which has grown into a cash cow for Daiei. Katsu, who plays Omiya, a former yakuza, and Takahiro Tamura, who plays Private Arita, an intellectual, work perfectly together. The director is Daiei veteran Tokuzo Tanaka, replacing Yasuzo Masumura from the previous film. Kisaburo and Private Arita try to steal the locomotive and escape, but they are blown away by a landmine set by the guerrillas and end up in failure. The two are taken to a military hospital, where Kisaburo falls in love at first sight with Kyoko, a beautiful military nurse. However, the military reassigns him and Arita to a front-line independent garrison. Even there, Kisaburo, an honest man, cannot stand his superiors, who seem to be the epitome of all the bad things about the military, and he fights with them every day. Eventually, he develops a troubled relationship with a superior over a geisha...
