Overview
Bernard Belluc is crazy about Napoleon, but even more so about Albert Dieudonné who played the Emperor in Abel Gance's legendary 1927 film. In 2019, Napoleon would have been 250 years old, Albert 130 years old and Bernard celebrated his 70th birthday with dignity. A “perfect alignment of the planets” which decided our hero, self-taught artist and co-founder of the MIAM, the International Museum of Modest Arts of Sète, to pay homage to his two idols. A daring and poetic adventure, carried out at full speed, which ends in Courçay, the small village in Tours where Albert Dieudonné is buried in his Napoleonic garb. For the first time in many years, this liberating project decided him to leave the reassuring cocoon of his lair: the opportunity to create the portrait of this artist, inspired by surrealism, living in a universe populated by ghosts and melancholic souls.
