Based on a true story, this drama is based on the unknown relationship between wartime broadcasting and war, and depicts the conflicts and anguish of announcers who were at the forefront of propaganda. A movie version of the work of the same name that was broadcast on NHK General Television on August 14, 2023. During the Pacific War, announcers used the power of their voices to raise fighting spirit and confuse the enemy with false information. On December 8, 1941, Nobutaka Wada, known as a genius announcer, and Morio Tateno, a young announcer, broadcast the first news of the outbreak of war on the radio, sending the nation into a frenzy. After that, the two men continued to powerfully convey the victory of the opening battle, raising the people's fighting spirit. His fellow announcers are assigned to broadcast stations established in the occupied southern territories one after another to promote Japaneseization there, and Wada's benefactor, Tadamaro Mera, is also dispatched to a Manila broadcast station on the front lines. Meanwhile, Mieko, a new female announcer, is deprived of her role due to pressure from the military and intelligence bureaus, which demand brave broadcasts. As the war situation worsens, Wada, who begins to question the Imperial Headquarters announcement, and Tateno, who considers himself a ``propagandist of the nation,'' clash violently. Tsuyoshi Morita plays Shinken Wada, the legendary announcer who was involved in both the war news and Gyokuon Broadcasting, and co-stars include Ai Hashimoto as Mieko, Kengo Kora as Tateno, and Ken Yasuda as Mera.
