Overview
After the war, Hokkaido, which had been the ancient kingdom of Tekiya, entered a period of turmoil as gangsters and gambler-like yakuza began to take over. To promote one's name, one must attack those with power. In 1945, in Hokkaido during the Warring States period, where such killings occur one after another, Tetsuo Ebara (Hakuryu), known as ``Barbara Rose'', stabs Tagawa, an executive of the Morinaga Association, to death. After this incident, the name of ``Kareki Rose'' begins to spread throughout Hokkaido, but the yakuza society's rule that ``strong people are targeted'' eventually comes to haunt Ebara as well... This is a story about the behind-the-scenes history of Hokkaido and the legendary outlaw Tetsuo Ebara who lived in that history.
