
Overview
A jazz comedy film depicting the turmoil that ensues when a student at a strict girls' boarding school pretends that her father, who is no longer alive, is a famous musician. Director Umeji Inoue's last directorial work for Shin Toho. Kyoko Minemura (Takiko Mizue), a chanson singer, decides to enroll her daughter Yuko (Izumi Yukimura) into Heiwa Gakuen, a boarding school. However, she cannot enroll at Heiwa Gakuen unless both parents are present, so Kyoko, a single mother, tries to convince her daughter to admit her father by pretending that her father is a famous musician. As soon as Yuko enters the school, everyone calls her Ton-chan and likes her, but the proud Kimiko (Kaori Taniguchi) doesn't find this funny.
