Christmas is just around the corner and with it the time for good deeds. So the “Angel of Kaltenthal” is back and is blessing those in need with an anonymous blessing of money. For the wealthy widow Sonja Berger (Bibiana Zeller), the days bring pure excitement. In the newspaper she discovers a picture in which she suspects her childhood sweetheart Thomas (Peter Franke) has disappeared: apparently he works as a city guide in Fatima. To find out, she asks Sister Hanna (Janina Hartwig) to accompany her to the Portuguese pilgrimage site. Although the sister is in the middle of preparing for the celebration for the war orphans, she finally agrees to the unusual pilgrimage - especially thanks to the persuasive skills of Mayor Wöller (Fritz Wepper), who surprisingly offers his escort.
