Overview
A history teacher who spends his annual vacation in a small village near Berlin repeatedly comes across legends about a former resident who no one knew where she came from when she appeared in the village in the spring of 1945. She had her groom arrested by the Red Army, saved the lives of 50 Ukrainian prisoners of war, spoke Russian as her native language and became mayor. In 1946 she married her groom, who had been released early from captivity, and disappeared without a trace on her wedding night. Many years later, the history teacher researches the story of "Red Sophia" and makes exciting discoveries.
